The History of Client Centred
A group of internal consultants including Peter Cockman and Peter Reynolds were asked to design a programme for a group that found themselves in roles where they had no formal authority, yet they were expected to influence change. Drawing on their combined expertise in business and psychology they designed the first Client Centred programme which proved transformational, delivering better results than these accomplished consultants had witnessed before. The programme was rolled out to more people with Bill Evans joining as an early attendee and facilitator. It quickly became acknowledged as highly effective in the development of managers and coaches.
In 1982, Bill Evans formed Oxford Management Consultants which delivered the Client Centred programme through recommendation and referral. Over the next 40 years over 6000 delegates, in some of the largest organisations in the world, participated in the programme.
Bill Evans and his 2 former colleagues went on to formalise the principles of client centredness in a book published in 1992
Over the years the programme has been developed, however the core principles of starting with conditioning and beliefs to understand oneself and how we work and communicate with others, remains uniquely different to the majority of leadership programmes which focus on attitudes, behaviours and habits.
In 2007, MD of CfRP, Mark Gregory, attended the Client Centred programme and started his own transformation journey. He went on to build his first business, which he successfully scaled and sold in 2021.
In 2023, Mark Gregory became an Owner and the Managing Director of CfRP, which owns the Client Centred programme. Working alongside Bill Evans and the crew, they bring the Client Centred approach to more businesses. Transforming the way we work.
